The destroyed properties in 2000 were together assessed at $625,600. Officials, as quoted in the Watertown Daily Times for Monday, March 4, do not know who or which entity will cover demolition costs, but said they "may be recoverable" through public aid funds.

Jefferson County and village officials officials met this morning to develop a plan for the cleanup.

Kempney Trucking & Excavation and Carlton Zehr were on site Sunday with front-end loaders and backhoes.
