Saturday, March 23, 2002. The large machinery that will begin the cleanup on Monday has arrived. A little snow also has arrived. The pictures that come next week should show major changes. Stefano's should also open on Monday. Will try to include pictures of that also.

Lorraine-based Independent Commercial Contractors will fence in the area on Monday and the actual removal of the 8,000 to 10,000 tons of rubble should begin Tuesday. Sixteen dump trucks from the towns of Wilna, Champion, Theresa, Orleans, Pamelia and Ellisburg will transport the debris to designated landfill sites. It is estimated that the process will take about 30 working days.

Certified Environmental Services Inc. of Syracuse has been hired to monitor the air during the cleanup.

Work at the site will last from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m Monday through Friday until finished.
